Dear Neighbour,

My name is Aisha and I have lived on Albert Drive for 25 years. It feels like home always. 

I always think of ways we could meet, but they remain thoughts. I sometimes wonder what you think of me and all the other Muslims in Pollokshields. Do you find us insulated? Are you afraid of us? Do the murders in Pollokshields make you want to leave? 

I feel like I belong here but do you think I belong here?

I have seen Pollokshields change demographically. Do you like this change? I love Pollokshields. When I enter it I feel a warmth and a sense of security. I love the houses, the trees, the leaves, the smell. I’m sure you do too.
