Research Wall

November 20, 2012

In October 2012, we took a wall of our studio at Albert Drive and  created a time line research wall for the project.
The research began with first settlement at one end of the Drive and we worked left to right along the street and through time.
We logged all the activity, movement and transport that we could find about Albert Drive and out of that research flowed the narrative of mobility. Curiously, it linked back to Govan’s Water Row and the crossing of the Clyde.
All the research started to flow on parallel narratives of geography, culture, transport,  materials, architecture and industrial advancement.
Albert Drive conserving and illustrating much of that as it traverses a protected Garden suburb or Island.

All things must flow.
