Wind and Snow on Albert Drive

February 25, 2013

Two pairs of socks, a set of thermal leggings and three jumpers later I was dressed and ready to take on the wind and snow that has arrived on Albert Drive.  Today’s job was to document all the ‘Letters to my Neighbour’ that have been attached to lampposts by the project team over the past few weeks.

I was truly inspired to see some of the heartfelt, funny and creative sentiments written in the letters and it was a pleasure to see the interest they have inspired in passers by. Reading and photographing the letters made me feel much closer to the local residents. There is great diversity in the age, ethnicity and approach to the task of writing the letters. The common thread running through them all is a great deal of warmth and a genuine interest in communicating with our, as yet, unknown neighbours on the Drive.

Clare

P.s. If you look closely at the picture you can see someone has responded to Olivia’s letter on her sign!
