In July 2013, Tramway and Glas(s) Performance presented ALBERT DRIVE – Introducing you to your Neighbour; a large scale participatory arts project involving artists, volunteers, local businesses, residents, families, individuals and communities in a creative exploration into the idea of neighbour from the perspective of one street in Pollokshields, Glasgow.

In January 2013, six commissioned artists joined the ALBERT DRIVE project with the shared aim to engage with people living on and around Albert Drive.

They brought with them a whole new set of skills and interests working across film, photography, installation, architecture, performance, dance and visual art in order to further explore the idea of neighbour from a whole new perspective.

Met Andy from Edo Architecture to interview him about the inspiration behind ”Everybody’s House’.

Everybody’s House, a lovely ‘tea caddy’ house designed by EDO Architecture, based on a concept by Glas(s) Performance, is making its first outing on Albert Drive today.

Skilled metal workers start to fabricate the frame of a lightweight mobile Tea Caddy House that can be lifted or wheeled into position. It’s a joy working with people that care about what they make and how the public interface with it.

We ordered materials that give us the correct strength to weight ratios and which are tactile.

It was a fine and sunny crisp start to the week today and not the average Monday morning sight on Albert Drive at all.

In October 2012, we took a wall of our studio at Albert Drive and  created a time line research wall for the project.
 The research began with first settlement at one end of the Drive and we worked left to right along the street and through time.
